The importance of chaining submissions can’t be overstated enough.  When you first begin training and compete against lower ranking belts, its easier to catch someone in a single attempt submission, but as you go against higher ranking belts this kind of attack becomes next to impossible.

I use what I call the  “Theory of 3’s” approach when it comes to submissions. This is where I use the first two submission attacks to set up the third one as the final blow so to speak.  I use this concept for all areas of jiu jitsu.
